Dili - JND - The Government has approved a decree law on liberalizing telecommunication on Monday (26/3). The decree law therefore allows two foreign telecommunication companies, Digicel of Ireland and Telkomsel of Indonesia, to operate in Timor Leste and compete with Timor Telecom.
“Tomorrow
will be the signing of the agreement with Timor Telecom on the liberalization,”
said PM Xanana before leaving Dili to Oecusse on Monday.
The signing of the agreement
would be done between the Minister of Infrastructure Pedro Lay and Timor
Telecom’s representative in Timor Leste, Manuel Amaro.
