Women Network NGO comdemned president Taur Matan Ruak's discriminatory remark

CJITL reports that women group condemned president Taur Matan Ruak over questioning PM Xanana's choice of former Minister for Social Affairs "Micato" as the Minister of Defense and Security. According to the NGO Rede Feto (Women's Network),  president TMR is breaching the article 16, 17 and 63 of the RDTL's constitution that guarantees equal civil rights and political participation regardless of gender and race. The Women Network NGO appealed the president to keep promises he made during his presidential campaign of involving women in the state affairs and asked the Prime Minister the reason why Micato was removed from the position and offered her old position as the Minister of Social and Solidarity.

On the latest news on the V constitutional government, Isabel Guterres resigned from her post as Minister of Social and Solidarity and Cerilio Cristovao, the chief of national Inteligence Agency, appointed as Minister of Defense and Security.
